Therapy can help, but it isn't only source of support
If you are worried about an addictive or compulsive behaviour, you may be looking for information before you are ready to speak to a therapist. You may also want additional support alongside therapy, such as peer meetings, structured recovery programmes or practical help.
The resources below are intended as a starting point and are not exhaustive.
Different approaches suit different people, and including them here does not mean that I endorse every part of an organisation's philosophy or model of addiction.
I encourage you to try them & more, to find the one that helps you.
Pornography & Compulsive Sexual Behaviour
If you are unsure whether Sex Addiction, porn use or other compulsive sexual activity has become problematic for you, you can use my Self-Assessment tools as a private reflective way to decide what steps to take.

Findom & Financial Domination
Findom Addicts Anonymous
Findom Addicts Anonymous is a peer-led Twelve Step fellowship specifically for people who believe their involvement in financial domination has become addictive or harmful.
The group is independent and does not oppose consensual Findom itself. Its focus is people who want help with their own problematic pattern. It currently operates a weekly virtual meeting and makes contact with newcomers before they attend.
If you are unsure whether Findom has become problematic for you, you can also use my Findom Self-Assessment as a private reflective starting point to decide what is next.

Support for Partners & Families
Addictive and compulsive behaviours rarely affect only the person directly involved. Partners and family members may also experience uncertainty, secrecy, financial difficulties, broken trust or significant emotional strain. Whether that is for s or recover from sexual activity.
Al-Anon provides free peer-support meetings for people affected by somebody else's drinking. Around 700 groups operate across the UK and Ireland, with online meetings also available. Read more here : Al-Anon UK
NACOA (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics) help those affected by a parent’s drinking or similar addictive problem. This includes children of all ages, many of whose problems appear in adulthood. Read more here NACOA
You can also read about my Partner & Family Recovery Support for CSB or Family Addiction Support for alcohol and drugs if you would prefer professional therapeutic support rather than, or alongside, peer support.

Therapy Is Another Option
You do not need to decide that you are addicted, reach a crisis point or fit a particular diagnosis before speaking to a therapist.
Sometimes the useful starting point is simply:
What is happening? What is this behaviour doing for me? What is it costing me? And what would I like to change?
Therapy can help you understand the pattern, explore what may be maintaining it and develop a way forward that fits your circumstances.
If you would like to talk things through, you can contact me for a free initial consultation.
